Butterfly Boucher – Flutterby

First off I had the chance to catch her live a while back and I was literally blown off my feet at how good her music really is. There is some wicked guitar work on this disc, very soothing. Butterfly Boucher has a nice voice, which compliments her musical style very well. Which tends to run along the lines of Conventional Rock/Folk.

The only real downside to Flutterby is the songs are extremely catchy and well be stuck in your head for hours if not day’s, which in a way is good thing. Very solid melodies with awesome lyrics. The song style is what really drew me into listening to her. Just something about it, its different yet extremely enjoyable almost like a mellowed out Avril Lavigne, but still keeping her originality.

The best part is the different direction each song goes in. Not one sounds like the previous one, and her voice, amazing… None of those high pitch noises just plain singing yet with such passion that you cant stop listening and going damn, this is good.

Butterfly also play's the majority of the instruments featured on the Album, which for me is a definite plus, I really respect people who write/play their own music as opposed to others.

To conclude this review take a listen to this cd, give her a shot I guarantee you, you wont be disappointed.
